2029 Season Preview

opening day

After what felt like the longest offseason ever, Opening day is finally here. The real question now becomes, can anyone beat the White Sox? We surveyed the league to see, and the results were not encouraging for the field:

AL East:

According to the 21 GMs who did the survey. The AL East is Wide Open. This division has historically come down to the, so it makes sense to see such a close vote, with the Rays predicted to once again edge out of the Red Sox.

AL east

AL Central

No shock here as the White Sox are expected to run away with the division. I think the more surprising note here is the Twins receiving no votes.

AL Central

AL West

This year, the west is not predicting to be very wild. The Angels are loaded and expected to make another run.

AL West

NL East

This division has a little parity, with the Phillies and Nationals expected to take it to the wire. The Marlins have some really nice depth this year, and you shouldn’t ever really count out the Braves. If the Mets start slow, the real question becomes, will they really move Kevin

NL East

NL Central

Our first division where everyone got a vote, which is more impressive when you factor the Cubs don’t even have a GM. The Cards are the heavy favorites, and are probably hoping these polls are one thing that does vest.

NL Central

NL West

The Padres are your favorites, just barely over the Giants here. The Dodgers should start to turn around, and don’t sleep on the Rockies. They have holes in their lineups, but they are a more talented team than they have shown. The Astros should have fun this year through the trade market.

NL West

World Series:

So more than 50% of the league feels the White Sox will pull the 3 peat. The Nationals were the only other team to receive multiple votes. Kudo’s to whoever, again, is all in on the Cubs. I personally think there is a GM’less team ready to make a run, but that, in my opinion, was Detroit.

Awards:

AL MVP: Juan Velasco… and it was not close

NL MVP: A lot of names came in here, but the 2 most common – Walt Walker and Jim Miller

AL CY: Estacio Maier got the most votes, with others going to Jamal Wells,Alex Sanchez Jon Hall and Myron Bell

NL CY: There are 2 kinds of people in this world… those who voted for Walt Walker… and those who are lying to themselves… and we have an honest bunch… and he was unanimous.

But, teams┬ádon’t win games on paper….. no… this is 2029… They win them on a laptop, so all that is left to do is PLAAAYYY BALLLL!
